Step 1 – Visit the service tax payment website
Website for the service tax payments are ACES.gov.in, CBEC.gov.in Visit the website CBEC easiest payment , a window will appear on the screen as below –
Mention the Assessee code on the above and press the tab buttons. Assessee code is a 15 digit number mentioned on your ST-2 certificate. It is also known as service tax registration number.
Step 2 – Check the company details
The second step is to enter the text as appear in image and click on service tax buttons. After pressing on service tax buttons window will appear on the screen with the details of company name, address and number check the details properly.
Step 3 – Select Accounting code of service tax
After checking the details select the accounting code for the service you want to make the payments of the service tax, education cess and senior and higher education cess. Select the interest if payments made after the due dates. select the penalty amount if service tax return filed after the due dates.
Code for the education cess and senior and higher education cess will be the same for all the service.
Interest and penalty code will be different for different service.
Step 4 Login to your bank accounts
After selecting the service click on the Bank buttons and select the bank from which you want to make payments. Enter user id and passwords of your bank net banking.
Step 5 Calculate the service tax
Mention the amount to be paid for the service tax, education cess, senior and higher education cess. Interest if delayed in payment and penalty if return not filed in due dates.
Calculate the liability differently for service tax @12%, Education cess @2% and senior and higher education cess @1 % for the different service after taking the Cenvat credit and entered the payable amounts here.
